This is a site dedicated to Sandy Becker, a popular kid's show host who appeared on WNEW-TV in New York during the 1960s.
WEBMASTER'S NOTE:

This page started out in 1997 as more of a prospectus than an actual Web page. I had very little material on Sandy, and very little hope of contacting anyone who knew him. Luckily, through the help of Sandy's wife Cherie and the folks who have e-mailed me, I have more information than I know what to do with! I came to this a bit late (I was born in 1961 and especially remember 'Sandy's Street'), but Sandy has influenced me in ways that I'm still discovering, and I'll try to do right by him.

"I'm not surprised that the tapes were erased -- even the old Ed Sullivan tapes were very poorly stored and many are missing, and that was a MAJOR show. I guess the good news is that 35 light years away, the broadcasts are just reaching whatever planetoids, lichens, algae might be out there. If there's intelligent life, I think Sandy would make a great ambassador for us."
